Community Artwork Display

11th December 2020 – 30th January 2021

Ahead of the Octagon’s reopening on the 11th December for Nurse Nellie Saves Panto, it was decided that our walls were looking a bit bare. So, to bring some colour to our venue and to celebrate local talent we publically invited Somerset Schools and local artists to display their artwork at the Octagon for our grand reopening!

The community artwork display is our chance to platform local talent and thank our community for their continued support during this period of uncertainty. The vibrant display allows us to celebrate the Octagon as a community hub for arts and culture, and welcome patrons back to our community venue.

The artwork will be displayed in the A1 poster frames that were otherwise looking very empty and bare, with each piece of artwork on display celebrating theatres reopening.

Auditorium Door & The Show Must Go On Artwork

Artwork on display follows ‘The Show Must Go On!’ theme, with a dazzling array of theatrical faces in various mediums, depictions of previously staged performances on the Octagon stage, a series of fabulous fairy-tale characters, and a collection of pieces that depict the artist themselves performing on stage.

The exhibition displays artwork from students at Milford Infants, Perrott Hill, King Arthur’s School, Castle Primary, Lyngford Park Primary, and Primrose Lane Primary School. In addition to artwork submitted to us by Matt King, Amelia Thomas, Rose Augustin, Amy Batty and Scarlett Thomas. Who have all contributed to the vibrant collection on display for our grand reopening.
