The Yeovil Literary Festival is back for 2023 with the first names announced that will be coming to the festival to discuss their recently published books.

Yeovil Literary Festival takes place this year between Thursday 26th and Monday 30th October with events taking place at Westlands Entertainment Venue and Yeovil Library.

Tickets have gone on sale for events including Deborah Meaden, Sarah Beeny, Noel Fitzpatrick, Chris Packham, Kate Mosse, Ian Dunt, Roger McGough and Tommy Jessop, plus many more. Further events are still yet to be announced but are currently being confirmed by the Yeovil Literary Festival team.

The Yeovil Literary Festival presents an exciting programme of literature, comedy and arts events from well-known literary figures, comedians, celebrities and exciting new writers. The festival is a not-for-profit partnership between Somerset Councils’ Westlands Entertainment Venue, Library Services and The Octagon Theatre, as well as Waterstones and Yeovil Community Arts Association.

Adam Burgan, one of the Festival Directors and also Arts & Entertainment Venues Manager at The Octagon Theatre & Westlands Entertainment Venue, said: “July is always an exciting time of the year for Yeovil Literary Festival because it’s when the first names go on sale and we start to see things really ramp up for an exciting festival in October. The names that have recently gone on sale really give a flavour of what is to come, with insights from entrepreneurs, fearless extraordinary women, historical novelists, best-selling crime novelists, political journalists, poets and actors. Watch this space for many more exciting announcements and make sure you book your tickets early for the best seats in the house.”

Chris Hall, Executive Director for Communities at Somerset Council, added: “The Yeovil Literary Festival has been running for over ten years now and helps to deliver fantastic arts and cultural activities in Somerset and enables residents to access literary talent from across the world. The festival enriches residents’ lives and brings together like-minded people to enjoy the stories they are told from authors. The Arts & Entertainment team and Libraries team work together with both Waterstones Yeovil and Yeovil Community Arts Association to deliver this thrilling annual festival and I am delighted to see it returning once again for 2023.”

With plenty of time still left until Yeovil Literary Festival starts, the Festival Directors are busily working to confirm many more names, with vast array of events set to take place over the four days. You will be able to pick up Yeovil Literary Festival brochure in September with all the names confirmed.
