The Octagon Theatre

Welcome to Prelude, The Octagon Theatre's bistro and cafe/bar. Located on the first floor, you can find a selection of food and drink to enjoy as well as the perfect place to relax and meet up with friends before a show.

Prelude is usually open from 5:30pm for 7:30pm performances and 11:30am for 1:30pm matinees. These times may vary according to the starting time of the show so please contact the Box Office or ask any member of staff for more information if you are unsure.

Food and Drink

A range of locally sourced food and drinks are available before the show and can be ordered from the bar. Desserts and drinks may also be pre-ordered for the interval, for more information just ask a member of staff.

We have popular menus for both adults and children which are constantly being updated throughout the year.

Table Reservations and Special Events

Booking a table is the best way to guarantee a seat in Prelude and can be done for any of our shows via our Open Table booking system at the top of this page.

Prelude is also available to hire for events and can cater for other functions at the theatre. Offering a variety of buffet options, events can be held either in Prelude or downstairs in the theatre's Johnson Studio.
