In 1963 Roy Orbison performed for the first time, at The Adelphi in Slough, 55 years later, in December 2018 The Roy Orbison Story made it’s West End debut at The Adelphi Theatre in London.
Now, in 2022 the one and only Barry Steele takes to the stage once again to celebrate the 85th birthday of this legend in The Roy Orbison Story.
During 2017, The Philharmonic Orchestra remastered some of Roy Orbison’s songs, in this production Barry is proud to present his versions of these masterpieces, along with chart busting hits originally performed by Roy Orbison’s friends. Barry Steele also performs stunning versions of Blue Hotel and Wicked Game as a compliment to Chris Isaak who recorded many of Roy Orbison’s songs and collected many awards on behalf of The Orbison Family. Barry will even perform a special song that was written by Roy and recorded by KD Lang, the pair worked together on many occasions.
In 1988 Roy Orbison joined The Traveling Wilburys, in tribute to them our new incredible finale in The Roy Orbison Story brings together the whole cast in a fabulous celebration of this original super group.
Barry Steele and a fabulous cast of musicians and singers will take you on the continuing musical journey in The 85th Anniversary Tour from The Black and White Night right through to The Traveling Wilburys and beyond - with so much more in between. They promise they’ll have you dancing in the aisles, in an evening packed with Rock and Soul.
